Use charts to present data
In this lesson, we've introduced different types of charts.
Column chart, line chart, pie chart, bar chart, area chart, scatter chart, radar chart, and a bubble chart, each chart has its own features that we should select the chart which best fits the topic.
- For example, bar charts and column charts are suitable for comparing data, but having too many data categories may lead the chart to be less intuitive.
- Line charts and area charts can show data changes intuitively, which tell data increases and decreases through the fluctuation of the lines.
- Pie chart indicates the proportion of a subset in the total, serving as a good choice for analyzing the percentages of regional sales.
Many different elements make up a chart, such as title, data labels, trendlines, and so on. Try to control the number of elements and keep it simple and easy to understand.
