How to Color Cell Based on Value in Excel/Spreadsheet

1.Open the worksheet in Spreadsheets (WPS Office) which contains the desired data and select the data in which you want to color different cells.

2.Click on the Conditional Formatting button in the Home Tab. It will show different options, as shown below.

3.Select New Rule and then select Format only cells that contain.

4. Select the type of values that need to be colored. For example, in the below picture the values between 65 to 85 are required to be colored. After defining the values in the designated spaces, click on Format and a new window will open. 

5.Go to Patterns tab and select your desired color and click on OK. This will color cells based on their values. The pictures below show all the steps in sequence. 

How to Color Cell Based on Value of Another Cell in Excel/Spreadsheet

1.In case the color of cells is required to be changed based on the value of some specific cell then again select the data range.

2.Click on the Conditional Formatting button in the Home Tab. It will show different options. Select New Rule. 

3.Now, select Format only cells that contain. Select less than in the drop-down menu and then select the specific cell by clicking on the button in the highlighted area. 

4.Press Enter and then click on Format and select your desired color. Click on OK. 

5.The color of cells will change based on the value of the specific cell. For example, look at the pictures below.

If you change the value of the specific cell, the cells will get colored as per the formatting rule selected earlier. This is shown below.

 Note: You can repeat the same steps by selecting another formatting rule.
